The Apple of His Eye - A Poem

We are the apple of His eye,

He holds us close in love, yet reigns on high.

From mountains to valleys, He sees us through and through,

While always knowing the heart behind all that we do.

You, Lord, are the One who shields and guards,

Our Almighty Creator, never distant or far.

You light our path and guide us home,

Our steady foundation with hearts prone to roam.

From sand on the beaches to drops in the ocean,

You, Mighty God, set the stars in motion.

Your light reaches the depths of the darkest place,

The Alpha and the Omega, light into expanding space...

Exalted on high, yet tender in heart,

Love unrivaled, unstoppable, and unending, we’re never far apart.

A love beyond measure, steady and true,

Your mercies meet us each morning, as they revive and renew.

But the truest expression of Your love

Was sent to redeem us from heaven above.

You bore our sins upon the tree,

That through Your Son, You set us free.

Your grace and love call us closer into Your light,

As we lay down our worries and hand over the fight.

We will always fall short, no matter how hard we try,

So with hearts bowed low in reverence and hands lifted high,

We praise You, God, that You would consider us the apple of Your eye.
